How to Fix Windows 10 Install Error 0xC1900101?

An error that begins with 0xC1900101 is usually a driver error. If you see any of these error codes, try the following steps first to fix the problem. If these steps don’t work, see Resolve Windows 10 upgrade errors for more detailed technical info. These errror codes only apply to Windows 10.

1. Make sure you have enough space on your device.

2. At least 16 GB of free space to upgrade a 32-bit operating system, or a GB 64-bit operating system. Run Windows update several times.

3. Download and install any available updates in Windows Update, including software updates, hardware updates, and some third-party drivers.

4. Check the third-party driver and download any updates. Unplug the extra hardware.

5. Remove all external storage devices and drives, docking stations, and other hardware that may have been plugged into the device, which are not required for basic functionality. Check the Device Manager for errors. Select the Start button, and then type Device Manager in the search box on the taskbar. Select “Device Manager ” from the results. In the pop-up window, look for any device with a yellow exclamation point next to it (you may need to select each category to switch to the device list).

6. Right-click the device name, and then select “Update driver ” or “Uninstall device ” To correct the error. Remove third-party security software. Make sure you know how to reinstall the program, and that all the necessary product keys are at hand.
